RK Plast manufactures high-quality polypropylene biological filter media for aquaculture and other wastewater treatment industries throughout Denmark and internationally. BioElements™ have 750 m2/m3 (228 ft2/ft3) of surface area and are offered in three different densities (light, medium, and heavy) depending on the specific biofilter application. For moving bed biofilters, medium-density BioElements™ (1.0 gr/cm3) have resulted in considerable energy savings due to lower air volumes required for proper mixing compared to other brands and lighter biofilter materials.
