Located on the east coast of Canada in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Saint Mary’s University is using new state-of-the-art aquatic research systems from Integrated Aqua Systems to investigate how environmental variations influence fish populations in Atlantic Canada. The new Fish Behavior and Physiology (FiBP) Lab is a modern facility utilizing Integrated Culture Module (ICM) Systems to study Medaka and Stickleback fishes as a biological model. The recirculating multi-tank rack mounted systems include IAS’ Integrated Filtration Module (IFM) which is a complete sump treatment system to filter the system mechanically and biologically. The systems also include Prominent Aegis II water quality monitoring & control systems to monitor and record pH, temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen.
